Nope.

Edit: Was just typing something quick to get this placeholder.

I am looking forward to this dinner-time start. It is not often that I get to drink at a normal hour and watch hockey, let alone a playoff game.

Hopefully the boys got a good night's rest and phuckin' show up for this one...

Fair assessment, JJ. I picked this in six for the good guys and saw nothing in game one that made me change my mind. Split on the road, good start if they can get it.

@Blackhawks is saying no line up changes.

I'd have Regin and Morin in this game.

Take out Zus , lose one of the defenseman.

Regin and Morin would for sure be net front presence.

Damn.

I don't believe "Miller stood on his head a few times in game 1": I believe after the first period - because of the lack of almost any pressure on him - he saw every shot and squared up to every shot - including the Toews 2 on 1 and the Sharp breakaway.

If he can continue to do that - if the Hawks continue to LET him do that - there will not be a happy ending.

Y-E-S.

Minimal net front presence, no screens, minimal rebound opportunities, etc. etc.

One thing about Miller that has been oft-mentioned in his career is that he seemed to do better when he faced more pucks. Perfect recipe then for him to face lots of simple, outside shots where he has time to change his angles and not have to make second-chance saves.

Hawks played the ideal game after the first frame for Miller to regain his composure with all of that puss outside play. And this series is seriously in doubt if nobody makes it harder for him.

Hawks need to stop wringing the puck from behind their own net to waiting Blues skaters along the boards and win the board battles in their own zone so the forwards can chase the puck into the opposing zone instead of skating off for a line change.

Great break down JJ.

Agree, those not named Toews and Kane upfront need to step it up a notch.

I would have thought that 4th line would have reveled in a physical opponent like St. Louis. Their cycle game should be giving the Blues fits. Pretty much exactly how the Blues' 4th line did in Game #1.

Does Q tinker with the lineups for today's game?

Here's my take:

Q's mental state is suddenly a concern to me. The crotch grab was out of character and he's stubbornly going with the same lineup. A least one change should have been made...possibly Regin for Zeus.

It was out of character, wasn't it?

Maybe, like many of us, Q is just extra anxious about this matchup with St. Lois. I mean, he was there for a lotta years, he knows it sucks there. He also knows that losing to such a sucky team from such a sucky city, in one of the suckiest states, with the suckiest fans would really...well, suck.

No loss makes me lose my mind quite like a St. Lois loss, hopefully this is just an example of Q feeling the same way.

This along with our Scottish corespondent's post above are the keys:

Get it out quickly and transition.

Of course, St. Louis skaters will have an impact on that: whose will will be greater?

Agree with Stlou...Miller made some really nice stops as the game went on but the Hawks didn't create enough traffic and get to the front of the net...

The PP needs to cash in 1-6 isn't going to get it done.

Really surprised Zeus is still in there today...last season after a loss in the playoffs someone would sit.

As far as the Q grab - heat of the moment in a game the Hawks knew they should have had. The refs totally franked us on that call - a 5 on 3 would have more than likely ended the game. The refs were chicken shat not to call it. Need the win today to even it up coming home to the UC.

I don't really think anyone thought we would come out of St. Louis 2 -0. So all we have to do is win today and we're in pretty good shape. IMO
